Philips Innovation Programme

The Programme aims at offering access to sophisticated technology facilities and cultivating innovative concepts from the Arab World:

Objectives of the Programme:

-          Promote  innovation and entrepreneurship in the Arab World

-          Stimulate local talent and young Arab entrepreneurs to develop firm business concepts supported by advanced technology innovations

-          Facilitate, mentor and coach local entrepreneurs to develop their ideas into high quality business propositions and commercially viable products in the Arab World

-          Advanced business case development within the Philips R&D and incubator facilities

Programme details:

A call for concepts annually through partner universities and incubators.

-          Eligible concepts must fall within Philips’ market scope

o    Healthcare 

o    Lighting   

o    Consumer lifestyle  

-          Three winning innovators will be selected annually, to be hosted at Philips R&D sites for up to six months to develop their innovation into well developed business cases

-          Winners will submit a detailed project plan prior to their visit to Philips site, subject to evaluation by Philips

After the Programme, the business cases will be presented to the regional VC community with the aim to gain their support for further financing.

Note: During its first year, the Programme will be launched in Lebanon only.
