Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation Explores Potential Partnerships with American University of Beirut
Dubai: 2 March, 2010 – The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation announced it received a delegation from the American Unive rsity in Beirut that included Patrick McGreevy, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Sciences and Salma Oueida, Associate Director of Development to discuss potential partnerships in the future.
The delegation was received by Adel Al Shared, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, and Saad Abaas, Acting Director - Human Capital Development. The Foundation’s officials briefed the guests on the Foundation’s objectives and accomplishments to date.
Adel Al Shared said: “Investing in equipping the right calibre of young people with further know-how will support development efforts across the Arab World and bring us closer to a knowledge-based economy. We are glad to meet with the officials from the American University of Beirut and look forward to seeing our partnership flourish and materialize.”
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation has tied up with several regional institutions to devise programmes that help build a stronger knowledge-base and skill-set, and develop a generation that is equipped with the ability to face the challenges of sustainable development in the Arab World.
