Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation Hosts a Delegation from AUB 

Dubai: 02 May, 2010 – The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation announced it has received a delegation from the American University of Beirut (AUB) headed by the University President, Dr. Peter Dourman, Dr. Imad Baalbaki, Assistant Vice President for Development and Mrs. Arabia Mohammad Ali, Director of Alumni Relations. 

The visiting delegation was received by Adel Al Shared, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation and Saad Abbas, Acting Director for Human Capital Development. The guests were briefed about the Foundation’s objectives and accomplishments to overcome the challenges facing the Arab World. Discussions included updates regarding the MBA students at AUB who are sponsored by the Foundation and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Entrepreneurship Centre at AUB. Officials from both sides also discussed ways to help students from the least fortunate countries. 

Adel Alshared said, “We were pleased to meet with the AUB delegation. We exchanged views related to the status of education in the Arab World. Our talks specially focused on the quality of education at branches of international universities in the region.” “Human capital development in the Arab World by providing access to quality education and professional development programmes is one of the Foundation’s main objectives,” Al Shared added. 

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation has tied up with several regional institutions to devise programmes that help build a stronger knowledge-base and skill-set, and develop a generation that is equipped with the ability to face the challenges of sustainable development in the Arab World.
