Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoun Foundation Hosts a Delegation from Bahrain Development Bank

Dubai: 09th May, 2010 – The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation has received a delegation from Bahrain Development Bank headed by its CEO Nedhal Al-Aujan. The delegation was received by Adel Al Shared, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation and Sultan Lootah, Executive Director for Entrepreneurship Development. Discussions focused on joint efforts to motivate young people to take part in strengthening Arab economic capabilities through launching and operating their own businesses.

In July 2008, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation signed an MoU with Bahrain Development Bank to promote entrepreneurship amongst Bahraini young people. To complement the agreement, the Foundation conducted a number of training and skill-building sessions in Bahrain to help potential entrepreneurs assess business ideas, develop strategies and business plans, understand the market and acknowledge the financial aspects of a business.

Adel Al Shared said, “We are pleased to meet with the Bahrain Development Bank delegation. The Bank is one of the leading regional institutions that provide training in various aspects of enterprise-building. Bahrain Business Incubator Centre, a subsidiary of the Bank, was one of the first incubators to join the Arab Incubators Network of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation.

“We exchanged views related to entrepreneurship and how to foster an entrepreneurial spirit that will lead to the creation of successful businesses and eventually contribute to the economic development of Bahrain,” Al Shared Added.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation is a non-profit organisation that aims to drive the region towards knowledge economy. With a US$10 billion endowment, the Foundation seeks to identify and develop promising institutions and individuals for guiding the region towards economic and social progress.  The objectives of the Arab Incubators Network is to support and strengthen existing business incubation centres in the Arab World and facilitate exchanging and sharing best practices and ideas.
