What is Intel Teach?
The Intel® Teach programme is a professional development programme that helps classroom teachers effectively integrate technology in their teaching in order to enhance student learning. It is the largest programme of its kind with more than 5 million teachers trained in over 50 countries since 1999.
How can a teacher register in the programme?
The programmes are run in conjunction with Ministries of Educations (MOE) in the respective countries, so if a teacher is interested in registering he/she should contact their district MOE representative.
Is this programme available for government school teachers only or for private school teachers as well?
The training programme is available for government school teachers through MOEs with no cost to the teacher. Private schools need to contact their local Intel representatives to learn how they can participate in the training programmes.
On what basis are teachers chosen?
The selection is done by local MOE representatives based on availability in the classes.
What are the subject areas in the training, English, Computer, etc.?
The trainings are not subject related. Any teacher from any subject area can benefit from the trainings. The programme focuses on training K-12 teachers (both in-service and pre-service) on the optimal ways of integrating technology tools and resources into their own lessons to promote 21st century learning and student-centred practices in the classroom.
What is the medium of instruction, Arabic or English?
Classes are run in the local language. So for Arabic speaking countries, instruction will be in Arabic.
Do I have to have high speed internet connection to be able to access the training?
Currently the trainings are offered face-to-face and it is advisable for the training centres to have high speed internet connection, but it is optional for individual teachers. Moving forward, the trainings will be also available online and high speed internet will be required to complete the online version of the training.
I am a college lecturer. Can I benefit from the programme?
You can benefit from the programme as long as it is offered in your area through the district MOE.
Where do I get more information about the programme?
You can get additional information about the programme either through the local Intel representative or the programme website http://www.intel.com/education/teach/index.htm
